Police nab alcohol, drugs in CamBay

Police in Cambridge Bay have seized more than two dozen bottles of vodka, along with drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Members of the Cambridge Bay RCMP detachment executed a drug warrant on Okpik St. on April 10, when they seized booze, drugs and other items, including numerous cell phones.

Randall MacPherson, 47, and Amanda Otokiak, 32, have been charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking contrary to Sec. 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and two counts under the Liquor Act, the RCMP said in an April 22 news release.

In the news release, the RCMP in Cambridge Bay also thanked people in community for their help in making Cambridge Bay “a safer place.”
