After a vehicle operated by a Kativik Regional Police Force officer hit and injured a 57-year-old woman in Kuujjuaq April 19, investigators from the provincial police’s regional investigation unit have travelled to Kuujjuaq.
They’re hoping to interview the woman, who is now in hospital in Montreal, where she recovering from “serious,” but non-life-threatening injuries, said Sgt. Marc Tessier, spokesperson from the Sûreté du Québec.
The incident took place at about 12:30 a.m. Saturday, Tessier said, although he was not able to add more details until the investigation is complete.
When a person suffers from an injury due to a member of a police force in Quebec, a second police force, in this case, the SQ, is called in.
