Weekend fire damages ‘shack’ in Iqaluit

Investigation underway, no injuries reported police say

No injuries were reported in what RCMP describe as a fire at a “shack” in Iqaluit on Sunday.

An RCMP officer spotted the fire while on patrol at about 8:20 a.m., said RCMP spokesperson Cpl. George Henrie, adding an investigation is underway.

No damage estimate was available. City officials could not be reached for comment Monday.

    Why the quotes? “Shack.” It a shack. It isn’t some weird, obscure term.

      My sister and I don’t have a shack..that was our long time cabin and nice one,,for many years we have been enjoying our summers there..pls respect my elder sister..
